Cable Protection and Utility Systems

Cable Protection and Utility Systems

There are a wide range of services which are delivered via cables and pipes. Most building projects require utilities, ranging from electricity to telecommunications, water and gas, meaning pipe and cable installations are required. The challenge for ground workers and utility installers is to find the appropriate, safe and convenient route.

Plastic cable ducting systems are a popular choice when updating and installing new under-ground utilities. It performs two main purposes; protection to cables and pipes under-ground from damage due to earth settlement, and also alerts future contractors and property owners to the presence of the utility in the ground.

The benefits of Plastic Cable Protection include:

  • Low weight, flexible, durable and high strength
  • High impact resistance
  • Easy to use and transport
  • Excellent impact resistance at low temperatures
  • Simple push fit joints for ease of installation
  • Duct is colour coded to customer requirements and can be printed to individual customer specifications
  • Water resistant if sealed and can be laid at extreme temperatures
  • High chemical resistance
  • Full range of fittings and accessories available

We provide ground workers and utility contractors with the ideal solution for almost any application:

  • Power
  • Motorway communications
  • Telecommunications
  • Lighting
  • Utilities
  • PVCu specification
  • General purpose

Duct is available in smooth wall, twinwall and singlewall corrugated profiles. The lightweight, flexible duct copes with trench undulations and the high impact resistance minimises special preparation of beds and eliminates the need for special surrounds in most instances.

All ducting options offered are manufactured in a range of colours, offering a solution for all project requirements.

Coiled twinwall cable protection offers flexibility eliminating the need for multiple joints and special bends and the smooth bore has a low co-efficient of friction for ease of cable installation.

Manufactured in polyethylene, the pipe is normally supplied 50 metre coils

Rigid twinwall HDPE duct systems provide a light, flexible, durable and high strength alternative to conventional cable protection.

The external corrugated profile gives the product added compression strength and the internal bore provides a low friction inner surface for ease of cable placement. If required, a sealed joint may be achieved by using two profile seals and a push fit coupling.

Manufactured in polyethylene, the pipe is normally supplied in either 6 metre lengths

Single wall PVC and Polyethylene duct offers an alternative to twinwall cable protection and can be used in both open trench and trenchless applications. Available in a comprehensive range of sizes it is strong, flexible & impact resistant.

Integrated Interference Fit (Push-fit) or Interference Ring-Seal sockets are IP68 rated and supplied as standard on uPVC Duct

Available in a range of bespoke long radii bends and angles also complement the range meeting the requirements of the latest generation cables

A comprehensive range of cable protection ancillaries offer complete solutions for all utility projects including:

  • Plastic and concrete access chambers
  • Building entry
  • Pole housing units
  • Composite, ductile iron, and steel covers
  • Galvanised Steel Covers & Frames
  • Draw rope
  • Warning tape
  • Cable protection tile covers
  • Route marker poles
